What are Orthotics?

Orthotics (or orthoses) are specialised medical devices that support, correct, or improve the way the body moves. They’re often custom-made by an orthotist and can include:

  • Foot orthoses (shoe inserts) to reduce pain and improve walking.

  • Ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) to manage conditions like foot drop.

  • Spinal braces for scoliosis or back support.

  • Splints and upper limb supports for injury recovery or neurological conditions.

Client Feedback

Anastasia

“I am happy with Anastasia Stefanis as my orthotist; she takes the time to help with any concerns or worries as she helps with my AFOS.

The AFOs help me participate in wheelchair sports and fun activities such as walking my dog.

I’ll wear my leg braces with Billy Footwear for ease of wear every day. I am thankful I found Anastasia.”

Anastasia assessed, moulded and expertly fitted my daughter’s orthotics. My daughter has special needs and finds it hard to keep still.

Anastasia was so kind and patient with her and talked her through the experience calmly. Anastasia went above and beyond by also helping us fit shoes to the orthotics she made for my daughter. She really cares for her clients and we had a very successful experience with her.

Elva's Testimonial

Anastasia’s work with my 80 year old mum Elva was amazing.

I was referred to Anastasia to mould an AFO to help her walk correctly due to a deformity on the side of her foot. The AFO was created after the use of Botox to soften her foot muscles.

Mum now walks much more safely and with confidence. I cannot thank Anastasia enough for her expertise and caring service.
